Roots & Wings

#identity#legacy

I carry two things with me everywhere I go: my roots and my wings.

My roots are Puerto Rico—warm air, loud laughter, music that carries through the streets. They remind me where I come from, the hands that built me, the ancestors who whispered, aguanta mija, keep going.

My wings are everything I’ve dared to chase: law school, building my own practice, raising my daughters, and now creating Med1/2 Kabrona. My wings are not given, they are chosen. They are the courage to stand in rooms that weren’t built for me and still say, I belong.

Sometimes roots and wings feel like opposites. Roots tell you to stay grounded. Wings push you to fly. But I’ve learned that one cannot live without the other. My wings would be lost without my roots, and my roots would wither if I didn’t use my wings.

Med1/2 Kabrona is about that balance. It’s the unapologetic act of honoring where we come from while refusing to be limited by it. We are both—deeply rooted and wildly free.

Because why not?
